Following meetings with Minister for Children Claire Coutinho, local MP James Sunderland welcomes news that the Department of Education has approved 33 new special free schools to be built, including the successful bid by Bracknell Forest Council for a school with 100 places for pupils aged 4 to 19 with autistic spectrum disorder.
For historical reasons, Bracknell patients have to travel to Wexham Park or Guildford when there is a superb cancer treatment facility right here in Bracknell, so James has written to the Chair of Frimley Integrated Care Board.
A new survey, run by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Veterans, has found that 76.4% of veterans and personnel would rate their experience claiming compensation for illness or injury caused by service as poor, or very poor – compared to just 6.4% who rate it good, or very good.
James Sunderland backs a Bill that would create a new entitlement for employees to take up to a week of unpaid leave a year to provide care for a dependant with a long-term care need and he takes the opportunity to praise the brilliant carers he meets in the Bracknell constituency.
